The Au Naturale Creme Concealer is the latest natural concealer I’ve been testing out. I look for concealers that provide medium-full coverage, are not greasy (because of creasing issues) but not drying either. I like to look for concealers that will double for both under the eyes and any spot/area concealing on the face.
COVERAGE + Provides medium coverage and is buildable. It covers my under-eyes decently – not the greatest coverage but I’m happy with what it provides. I was initially disappointed in this concealer because I felt it didn’t provide any coverage for spot and area concealing on the face. When applied around the corners of my nose you could see redness coming through and it looked cakey and dry. It was so disappointing because it didn’t seem like a sheer concealer at all. However, the second and third time around I didn’t experience that lack of coverage again and realized my skin either needed a chance to get used to a new product (because it contains different oils than my skin is used to) or maybe the concealer needed breaking in. I find that it sits well on top of powder as I conceal blemishes after I’ve applied powder foundation.
CONSISTENCY + The consistency of this cream compact concealer is so impressive to me. It’s creamy of course, but it’s not greasy by any means and it’s not too drying. I feel this is something that’s hard to perfect in a cream compact form, but they have done it perfectly. It creases minimally on my under-eyes, so that’s how I know they’ve done a product right!
COLOR // SHADE RANGE + Au Naturale carries a great range of shades in their creme concealer and there should be a shade for everyone. I’m between fair and light and but Beige ended up working quite well for my skin tone anyway.
This concealer retails for $24 – and Au Naturale offers a one time 20% discount if you sign up for email!
Au Naturale includes a sample in every order and I received this lipstick sample in the top selling shade Innocence. It’s described as a soft, pink nude although I find my sample doesn’t swatch the same color as you see elsewhere online. Nonetheless, it’s such a pretty shade and has a balm-like texture that’s so moisturizing. It would definitely make the perfect shade for a cream blush which I intend on trying very soon.
I’m so pleased with the creme concealer and to boot Au Naturale has a great range of high-performing products with the cleanest formulas. Speaking of how clean their cosmetics are, the awesome founder and team behind the brand are taking this concept of clean beauty standards to congress in hopes of changing the cosmetics industry as it stands in the US today. With our support, they could work with congress on starting a clean beauty standard that will regulate ingredients and require clear, transparent labeling along with putting an end to greenwashing. Get behind the #cleanbeautyrevolution and sign the petition today! (As of writing this post, they are nearly 1,100 supporters away from hitting the goal!)
