I’m currently on my second pot of this lovely eye balm and it has been a staple in my skincare routine for nearly a year. The Bee Naturals Queen Bee Peeper Keeper Eye Balm* ($10 – 0.6oz) is a solid balm formulated with oils and beeswax to treat, moisturize, nourish and protect the skin around your eyes (and anywhere else you like!).
Olive oil, jojoba oil, unbleached beeswax, sunflower oil, avocado oil, sesame oil, carrot seed oil, meadowfoam seed oil, shea oil, tocopheryl acetate (Vitamin E), coconut oil and oat oil.
[Some people have experienced milia developing around the eyes after applying coconut oil or products containing coconut oil in the eye area, so be cautious. Coconut oil isn’t for everyone.]
how i use it + my results
I use this eye balm both day and night and apply before moisturizing with my Kahina Giving Beauty Facial Lotion. It contains beeswax so it’s quite solid and has to be scraped out of the container. I take the top side of my finger nail and scrape out about a half-pea amount of balm and wipe it onto the under eye area, then massage and pat it in (but not too much, so it doesn’t start to oil cleanse!). If my eyelids are looking or feeling dry I will pat them with whatever oil is left on my finger after application.
I’ve been using this eye balm for almost a year and have seen such great results that I haven’t wanted to try anything else, especially since it’s so affordable! I have eyesight issues so I’ve been squinting my entire life and was developing fine lines because of it (I’m 25, so I don’t know if i’m approaching the aging type of wrinkles). I also didn’t have a good and consistent skincare routine for years, so my skin used to be quite dry and it contributed to the fine lines. After months of daily and nightly use of this eye balm those fine lines have minimized to the point that I can say I no longer have them! Honestly, I didn’t think it was possible because I was so sure that once you have these fine lines, they only get deeper and not even a conventional product can get rid of them. This balm certainly proved me wrong and it’s also doing awesome at preventing future wrinkles. It keeps my skin so moisturized (and I am working on squinting less, ha) so I’m all for the prevention. I also wear this even under makeup. Because I apply moisturizer after the balm, it helps to distribute the oils evenly and makes the under eye area less oily so it’s better prepped for makeup and I don’t find that it makes concealer or foundation crease under my eyes.
There are a lot of expensive luxury eye balms out there (and they are gorgeous) but if you’re in need of an effective, moisturizing eye (or everything) balm to help minimize those fine lines and dryness then I definitely recommend this!
