LINA HANSON Global Face Trio
This versatile, multi-purpose, 3-in-1 solution is a gentle powder formulated to brighten, purify, and clarify the skin with each of its multi-purpose uses. Use it as a cleanser, exfoliator, or mask! Customize this powder to your liking by adding more water to use it as a cleanser, less water to use it as an exfoliator, or add in a few drops of your favorite facial oils or serums. You can also use honey as your mixing medium, or boost it with your favorite herbs and spices.
- Thanaka Wood Powder. Ground bark powder that comes from the thanaka tree native to Myanmar. Anti-fungal; helps to clear acne. Exfoliates and smooths to reveal soft, brightened skin and removes excess dead skin cells that cause clogged pores and acne.
- Ginseng. Adaptogenic herb considered an important component of Chinese traditional medicine. Source of antioxidants that fight free-radicals and helps to prevent/treat signs of aging. May improve blood circulation and collagen formation which allows for cell regeneration.
- Ricebran. Made from the outer layer of the rice grain and has been cherished by Japanese women for centuries; exfoliating and smoothing.
- Lemongrass. Antibacterial; anti-septic. Provides aromatherapy benefits.
- Licorice. Antioxidant; brightening.
- Turmeric. Fights inflammation.
Cleansing powders are not a product I usually take interest in so I will readily admit I underestimated this powder and how much I would enjoy it. To my surprise I fell in love with it after just one use when trying it as an exfoliator, and WOW did it make my skin incredibly smooth. It’s been awhile since I’ve used anything that’s physically exfoliating so I could tell this was something my skin needed. Its smoothing benefits were most discernible the morning after when I began cleansing, feeling just how smooth and bump/flake-free my skin was. It’s also wonderful as a gentle mask that cleans and purifies the pores with the inclusion of kaolin clay. Absolutely will not underestimate cleansing powders again, especially one that is from Lina Hanson. Oh, and it smells like lemon poppy seed muffins!

Wabi-Sabi Botanicals BUDHI Sacha Inchi Eye Nectar
With a powerhouse blend of ingredients like sacha inchi, seabuckthorn, primrose, coffee fruit, squalane, guava, and prickly pear, Wabi-Sabi’s BUDHI nectar is an oil-based eye serum designed to reduce dark circles, inflammation, and signs of aging. The sacha inchi base provides antioxidant benefits while also helping to maintain skin’s hydration-retention and balance oil production thanks to its high-linoleic acid content, making it safe for acne-prone skin. Coffee fruit helps to depuff and brighten thanks to its caffeine content. Prickly pear lends more antioxidant benefits as well as moisturizes, softens, and helps to restore skin’s elasticity.
Its gorgeous coppery hue comes from sea buckthorn, which lends a temporary warmth of color to the skin. BUDHI is velvety, silky, deeply moisturizing, and smells of spicy chocolatey coffee!
BUDHI (and much of the Wabi-Sabi line) has been on my wishlist for some time, which is why with tears in my eyes I have to mention that I experienced an allergic/physical reaction to it after my first and only use with it, so I am only able to provide a very preliminary opinion on this product. I’ve been in contact with both the co-founder at Boxwalla and Elysse from Wabi-Sabi and we’ve hunched that the culprit could have been the potent caffeine content of the coffee fruit, or possibly a sensitivity to the absolutes in the oil. 4 days after my initial reaction and the under-the-skin spots around my eyes (most likely broken capillaries) have faded and I am considering giving BUDHI another try, but using a lesser amount. Regardless of my experience, the majority of my fellow green beauty gals on Instagram have been enjoying BUDHI with great results and no reactions like mine. Remember, plants are potent so use proper dosage, and allergies are not uncommon in the plant world so patch test always!

RMS BEAUTY Living Luminizer
A little something you all might be familiar with – say hello to RMS Beauty’s best-seller! The Living Luminizer is a creamy, pearlescent highlighter that imparts a very beautiful, sheer, dewy glow. The LL shade is universal and suits all skin tones. Apply it to the high points of your face or blend it in with eyeshadow and blush to give luminosity and glow! Non-glittery, non-sticky, non-greasy; just sheer pearlescent goodness to enhance your skin’s natural glow. Has indefinitely replaced my previous cream highlighter favorite from Silk Naturals! I’m also a proud owner of RMS’s Buriti Bronzer which pairs beautifully with the LL.
If you’re familiar with RMS Beauty’s price range, you’ll know the LL is one of their more expensive products at $38. If the Living Luminizer and/or the other two products in this box were on your wishlist, you are receiving an incredible value considering the price of the LL alone is almost as much as the total price of this box. That’s the beauty of subscription box services that feature luxury beauty; fantastic savings and value!
*Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, *Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, *Cera Alba (Beeswax), Tocopherol (non-GMO), *Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) Extract, and may contain [+/- Titanium Dioxide CI77891, Mica CI 77019]
It’s always handy (and fun to collect!) when subscription services ship their products in sturdy reusable boxes, but it’s not fun to create waste and hurt trees in the process. Boxwalla explains the beauty of their handcrafted tree-free boxes below:
“Each box containing Boxwalla goodies is carefully crafted from tree-free handmade paper. A small company in India makes the paper for us, from cotton scraps, using the traditional art of paper-making that involves 9 steps and takes several weeks. The handmade paper is then meticulously fashioned into the boxes that you see in the pictures. The whole process is completely child labor free and employs 63 local villagers and 20 skilled artisans whose families have been making paper for generations. We love supporting socially and environmentally conscious businesses such as these : They craft beautiful products while preserving traditional crafts and skills that would otherwise be completely lost.”
Whether you’re new to beauty subscription boxes or are currently conflicted and incompatible with your current subscription(s), and you’d like to explore this world of beauty subscription services, there are many reasons why Boxwalla is set apart from the others and these reasons are why I’m seriously considering subscribing after my experience with the offerings of this box. Number one, the eco-luxury brands they feature suit my taste so well, and I appreciate their model of featuring 3 products (1-2 are typically full size) and the fact that they are usually from different brands. It’s nice to get a taste of things that are simultaneously different and similar at the same time. Number two, Boxwalla is bi-monthly, so you will only be receiving six boxes a year. I have a fear of collecting too many products I’m unable to use due to loss of potency/expiration over time, so the bi-monthly aspect is one that meets my needs. Number three, they don’t feature so many facial oils! I appreciate a good facial oil, but not a new one month after month. Lastly, all of this and more, for what I consider to be a low price of $50 per box. Simply put, you know when you vibe with a product or service, and vibe I do with this one! This feels like a grand statement coming from someone who has expressed their qualms in the past with subscription services and how I currently am not subscribed to one. This just might change!
