When the Muses Sing of Spring: April Boxwalla Beauty Review | MONASTERY

I’m playing catch-up on some overdue blog posts and this week I’m belated-ly bringing you my thoughts on Boxwalla’s April beauty box. I regret to inform you that one-time boxes aren’t available for this one, but if you’re interested in Monastery’s products anyway, this review may be of help in your purchasing conquests!

Themed “When the Muses Sing of Spring“, the April Beauty Box* showcases two full-size products from Monastery that deeply soothe and hydrate, gently renew, and brighten the skin. In it we received: Aloe Hyaluronic Moisture Boost ($79) a lightweight hydrating gel serum and XX Rose Glycolic Gel ($74) a 10% glycolic AHA exfoliating serum.

NATIVE Deodorant Review: Does It Really Work?

Awhile back (and I mean awhile back, perhaps years ago now?) I had tested out a mini version of Native’s coconut and vanilla deodorant that I found at Target in their travel section. I remember enjoying it for however many weeks I was using it, but that little sample was one of those products that somehow sinks to the bottom of a drawer of products and I forgot about it! A few months ago I saw that Walmart started selling Native and I was seeing it advertised everywhere and thought to myself how much I had enjoyed that sample I tested, so I bought a full size.

Native has created a line of natural deodorants that has a reputation of “actually working”, so it’s always interesting to try a much hyped product for yourself to see how it stands up against the claims. For the record, I have found a few other natural deodorants that do work for me, but I’ve found it helpful to rotate between a few working deodorants, rather than stick with the same one long term. I like that Native’s deodorants are available locally since they are sold at most Walmart and Target stores, and they are a bit more affordable than the luxe ones you can find online.

A Collector of Seeds: February Boxwalla Beauty Review | VOTARY

It feels like a strange time to post about products considering the seriousness of this pandemic and job losses happening at the moment (and with my own personal pain), but if you guys feel the way that I do, beauty blogs and Instagram scrolling (in addition to intense home cleaning) have been a helpful way to take my mind off of things. In the midst of what’s going on, I lost my father rather tragically and unexpectedly to a non-virus related health condition during the same week my state issued a stay at home order. I’m thankful to have the time that we had with him in the 5 days he was in the hospital, because the day after he passed, the hospital restricted visitation due to the virus as my state is becoming one of the epicenters. Talk about timing. It’s been hard to make sense of anything while dealing with two painful situations at once – life feels unreal and I’m pretty sure we are in the upside down right now.

I hope this blog finds you all safe and healthy and that it serves as a nice distraction in some way from the stress and scariness of it all. Let me know, how are you guys TRULY doing? Let’s chat <3.

Themed “A Collector of Seeds“, Boxwalla’s February Beauty Box* is all about the power of seeds and showcases two full-size products from British-branded Votary’s Super Seed line including their Super Seed Facial Oil ($110 retail value) and Super Seed Nutrient Cream ($102 retail value). The Super Seed line is formulated with seed oils for sensitive skin types and those dealing with inflammation, redness and more. I regret to inform you all that this box is currently sold out in their One-Time box selection, but if you feel swayed to try these products I encourage you to check out Votary’s store! Also, Boxwalla is running a 20% off promotion on the rest of their One-Time box offerings – check out the bottom of this post for more information.

From the Earth, Slowly: December Boxwalla Beauty Review | LEPAAR

I’m posting this review a lot later than I intended, but website issues love to get in the way of making things happen!

Also, this blog reached its 4 year anniversary this week! If you’ve stuck around with me for this long and still find my reviews informative and enjoyable, I must say thank you for reading and supporting this hobby of mine! I know that my posts are fewer in between these days, but I truthfully don’t have as much content to post because I don’t test and purchase as many products as I used to. I’ve settled into a groove of what I like, I’m more aware of what my skin likes and doesn’t like, and I try to have moments with consistency although that doesn’t usually last. I’m incredibly grateful and appreciative of the brands that still send me PR products to test (I’m in disbelief about it to this day, it feels like a small mark of success!) like Boxwalla has. This December box marks my 3 years that I have been reviewing the ever excellent Boxwalla beauty boxes and I’m eager to see what curations Lavanya has in store for 2020.

October Boxwalla Beauty Review: AFRICAN BOTANICS Le Masque Hydralift Intense

dream a little dream of me”

African Botanics joined Boxwalla this October for another beauty box curation (you may remember their products from last August and October’s boxes) and I couldn’t be more ready to rave about this box because of the immediate and long-lasting results I have seen with the featured product. I meant to get this review up sooner but simply didn’t have the time – however! it means that I had more time to thoroughly test this beaut of a serum from African Botanics and that is always great for you readers!

Themed “Dream A Little Dream of Me“, the October Beauty Box* showcases a product from African Botanics – the Le Masque Hydralift Intense serum – that is perfect for a little bit of daydreaming as well as to nudge you into the sweetest dreams at night. This multi-tasker is an overnight hydrating mask/serum formulated to increase moisture levels, lift, firm, smooth, replenish, and brighten skin. It’s essentially a lightweight but hard-working facelift in a bottle and this stuff WORKS, which I can’t wait to share more on below.

Although subscriptions for this box have ended, it’s now available in the Boxwalla store as a One-Time October Beauty Box! These are one-time non-renewing purchases that don’t require you to subscribe to the box. These of course make for great holiday and birthday gifts as well!

August BOXWALLA Beauty Review: HEART OF GOLD SKINCARE

“The Secret Symphony of Skincare”

I am exceptionally excited to share the contents of this month’s Boxwalla because it is showcasing a brand that is much coveted around the green/plant-based community over on Instagram. It’s one of those brands that you see on another’s feed and you’re just like, what it this and why do I already want to throw all of my money at them for the entire line? Exquisite plant-based formulas, unique product names, and rich tones are the visuals you’re immediately inundated with when you see this line – just take a look at their shop! It’s a sensory experience before you’ve even tried a product.
