Curious Comfort of Skincare-like Things: August Boxwalla Beauty Review

Let me begin my August Boxwalla review with a small apology for not having this review up sooner! I intended to get this review up when I had posted my review on the August limited edition box, but two separate health issues had me down for a large part of the month and got in the way of a few reviews I had wanted to get up this month. I regret to mention that the August box is sold out and that there aren’t any one-time boxes available, but if you have any interest in the featured products do read on because I have genuinely fallen in love with this month’s box.

JUST LAUNCHED: BOXWALLA X LOVINAH Limited Edition Makeup + Skincare Box

Boxwalla, our favorite top-notch subscription box service (sensory experience platform, honestly) has just released a special Limited Edition Makeup + Skincare Box collaboration with Lovinah Skincare! Lovinah is a new-to-me brand and I’ve had a few days to test these goodies out, but I’m already head over heels for these two and I don’t say that casually because the eyeshadow palette in particular has totally renewed my interest in makeup again.

THREE WAYS TO SAVOR SUMMER: June Boxwalla Beauty Review

Hello, friends! How is Summer treating you, COVID and all? In the South where I live, it’s too blazing hot and humid to care about going outdoors and I don’t look forward to sweaty shiny skin, but I do look forward to Summer skincare products. With skincare I find that there’s an addictive feeling towards experiencing relief – whether you’re soothing hot dehydrated skin with a cooling mist, applying a much needed exfoliating treatment mask, or cocooning your skin in the most nourishing balm or cream at night. With non-favorable weather and climate conditions I know that I get to experience that relief of skincare and it may sound twisted, but I get the feeling that many of you know what I am talking about!

NATIVE Deodorant Review: Does It Really Work?

Awhile back (and I mean awhile back, perhaps years ago now?) I had tested out a mini version of Native’s coconut and vanilla deodorant that I found at Target in their travel section. I remember enjoying it for however many weeks I was using it, but that little sample was one of those products that somehow sinks to the bottom of a drawer of products and I forgot about it! A few months ago I saw that Walmart started selling Native and I was seeing it advertised everywhere and thought to myself how much I had enjoyed that sample I tested, so I bought a full size.

Native has created a line of natural deodorants that has a reputation of “actually working”, so it’s always interesting to try a much hyped product for yourself to see how it stands up against the claims. For the record, I have found a few other natural deodorants that do work for me, but I’ve found it helpful to rotate between a few working deodorants, rather than stick with the same one long term. I like that Native’s deodorants are available locally since they are sold at most Walmart and Target stores, and they are a bit more affordable than the luxe ones you can find online.

A Collector of Seeds: February Boxwalla Beauty Review | VOTARY

It feels like a strange time to post about products considering the seriousness of this pandemic and job losses happening at the moment (and with my own personal pain), but if you guys feel the way that I do, beauty blogs and Instagram scrolling (in addition to intense home cleaning) have been a helpful way to take my mind off of things. In the midst of what’s going on, I lost my father rather tragically and unexpectedly to a non-virus related health condition during the same week my state issued a stay at home order. I’m thankful to have the time that we had with him in the 5 days he was in the hospital, because the day after he passed, the hospital restricted visitation due to the virus as my state is becoming one of the epicenters. Talk about timing. It’s been hard to make sense of anything while dealing with two painful situations at once – life feels unreal and I’m pretty sure we are in the upside down right now.

I hope this blog finds you all safe and healthy and that it serves as a nice distraction in some way from the stress and scariness of it all. Let me know, how are you guys TRULY doing? Let’s chat <3.

Themed “A Collector of Seeds“, Boxwalla’s February Beauty Box* is all about the power of seeds and showcases two full-size products from British-branded Votary’s Super Seed line including their Super Seed Facial Oil ($110 retail value) and Super Seed Nutrient Cream ($102 retail value). The Super Seed line is formulated with seed oils for sensitive skin types and those dealing with inflammation, redness and more. I regret to inform you all that this box is currently sold out in their One-Time box selection, but if you feel swayed to try these products I encourage you to check out Votary’s store! Also, Boxwalla is running a 20% off promotion on the rest of their One-Time box offerings – check out the bottom of this post for more information.
