The newest facial oil to my skincare collection is the Yoshimomo Botanique Genius Active Facial Oil and I have primarily been using it as an eye serum. I discovered the Yoshimomo Botanique brand quite recently and their entire collection is beautiful, so when perusing their shop I wanted to try something small just to get a feel for the line. The Genius Active Facial Oil comes in a full 30ML size, but when I read the description of it and its ingredients I knew the 10ML roller-ball size would work perfect as an eye serum.

mY eXPERIENCE +
This facial oil is described as a concentrated booster serum (for instant glow) and because of this it feels like a lightweight, silky, quickly-absorbing oil. I haven’t tested this oil around my face so I can’t speak for how it performs there, so as I mentioned above I mainly use this as an under-eye serum.
Since it’s a lightweight oil it’s great for day-time wear because it’s not too heavy, absorbs quickly, and it won’t interfere with makeup. The best part is how great the roller-ball feels while applying! If you suffer from puffy tired eyes, you will definitely love this for the mornings. Since my night time skincare routines leave my face feeling more dry compared to the mornings, I find it necessary to use a heavier eye product at night. If I use this eye serum at night, I just make sure to dab more of my Kahina argan oil on top of it because it will add in the extra moisture my eyes might need. I switch back and forth between an eye balm, and between using this eye serum + argan oil – it just depends on what I fancy that night!
One thing I truly appreciate about this eye serum is how a little bit of it goes a long way. I burn through eye balms incredibly fast (I probably get heavy-handed with them and overapply), but with this eye serum I’ve barely made a notch in the bottle after a month of daily use. If this were a balm, by now I’d be over 1/4 of the way through it. Especially considering that it’s just 10ML, it’s incredible that I haven’t used up the whole bottle by now. Long lasting skin care products are something we can all appreciate! It’ll cost you $29 for the roller-ball, but that’s quite affordable in comparison to the luxury eye serums on the market and again, it should last you quite awhile!
If you’re looking for a high quality, lightweight, glow-inducing oil I highly recommend it! The roller ball makes it perfect for use as an eye serum and it’s also a great idea for travelling. Yoshimomo also sells all of their other facial oils in the 10ML roller-ball size, so you may find another oil type more suited for your eye serum needs!
Next up on my Yoshimomo wishlist are two cleansers: the Black Magic Bamboo Charcoal Cleanser and the Very Gentle Botanical Cleanser. Leave a comment below if you have tried any products from this brand!
