Herbal Solutions with Blissoma Holistic Skincare

I first laid eyes on the Blissoma skincare brand earlier this year and since then have had a long time inkling to try something from the brand, but wasn’t sure where I wanted to begin with the line and what I really needed (or didn’t need) in my skincare collection. In late August after being on the hunt for a cream cleanser I could use for mornings, I came across Blissoma’s Fresh Mild Rice Cleanser once again in a blog review and decided I’d go for it. I couldn’t resist trying a couple of their moisturizers and samples as well! I’ve had a good deal of time in getting to know this herbal amazingness that is Blissoma and have since used up nearly all products in this haul with great impressions and wonderful results so I’m long overdue to share these new skincare loves in my life!

Blissoma is a natural skincare line that delivers real and healthy results in the form of raw, active, herbal healing solutions for the most authentic and honest skincare experience. Each and every product in the Blissoma skincare line is crafted with complex herbal formulas, containing only the most freshly extracted, nutrient-rich ingredients.

Every product in our collection is 100% natural, Certified Vegan, made in-house, and packed with certified organic botanicals, bioavailable vitamins, essential fatty acids, and skin-soothing seed oils.
They are also 100% free of petrochemicals, parabens, synthetic colors, fragrances, vegetable emulsifying wax, pthalates, neuropeptides, or other artificial chemicals commonly found in beauty products.”

Fresh is a gentle, soap-free, pH balanced cream cleanser designed for dry and normal skin types, but is also suitable for all skin types. It contains small bits of organic whole brown rice (super gentle, non-abrasive) for a gentle cleanse and delivers B vitamin nutrients. Instead of stripping the skin, the infusion of oils and herbs leaves moisture behind on the skin for replenishing. I fell in love with Fresh at first use! I was in search of a cleanser ideal for mornings: something that is gentle, creamy, and helps to replenish overnight moisture loss. This cleanser ticks all of the boxes for me, but there is something more to it than it just accomplishing what I look for in a morning cleanser. The way this product marries a combination of clean packaging, natural raw ingredients, great performance, and real results is what makes it a top favorite contender in the morning cleanser category. It’s great for night time as well, I usually opt for something more clarifying to be used after oil cleansing, but it’s a fantastic cleanser for night if you’re looking for something gentle that won’t disrupt the skin when dealing with acne, sensitivities, or redness. It has a lovely fresh citrus scent that makes the cleansing experience bright and uplifting! I love the way it leaves my skin with a slippery feeling as it rinses off, only to reveal soft, refreshed skin after patting it dry. Highly recommend this cleanser and it’s one of my favorite skincare finds of 2016.

Peace is a calming and moisturizing treatment designed to help ease and heal the skin after a long day’s encounter of stress. It contains a great list of healing herbs (such as seaweed and dandelion) and trace nutrients and minerals, along with shea butter and pumpkin seed oil for soothing moisture. While it’s described as a “creme”, it has a thin and runny consistency that of a serum. My skin LOVES this calming creme. It drinks it like it’s a tall glass of water and looks amazing after its applied looking healthy,  and dewy, and feeling soothed and calmed. Oily skin types can wear Peace alone and for drier skin types I recommend applying a cream moisturizer on top. For added moisture and locking in Peace, I apply Pure on top of it. With daily use (applied 2 times daily most days) this 1oz. bottle lasted me just over a month and a half. I’ve since finished this bottle of Peace and can’t wait to pick up another!

PURE SENSITIVE SKIN SOOTHING COMPLEX, $30

Pure is a creamy, slightly thick moisturizer truly designed for sensitive skin types as it contains no essential oils. Essential oils are potent and volatile and a lot of skin types react harshly to them. Like the Fresh facial cleanser, Pure contains plantain and marshmallow which have a high mucilage content that lends a thicker texture to it and acts as a healing and repairative layer. As I mentioned above, I love to layer Peace and Pure (in that order) for a wonderful combination that moisturizes and plumps up the skin leaving it with a healthy glow and minimal residue as it soaks up every bit! By far my favorite moisturizer combo for wear underneath makeup as there is no layer of greasy or heavy residue to interfere with it. I’ve also since used up this bottle of Pure and will be repurchasing along with the Peace moisturizer!

  • Smooth A+ Correcting Serum – For more info on my experience sampling the Smooth serum, read my review from August here. Amazing gel serum with 4% niacinamide and ceramide content for acne-prone and problematic skin types that need help with texture. Highly recommend if you’re dealing with texture, flakiness, and dryness stemming from lack of hydration and over use of oils. I’ve since picked up a full size of Smooth – stay tuned for a full review next week!
  • Refine Clay Renewal Mask – You can also read more on my experience with trying out Refine here. One of the better pre-mixed clay masks I’ve tried to date – I love the gritty texture which allows for exfoliation when rinsing off and how it includes oils for conditioning and moisturizing the skin. It purifies the skin in an amazing way, leaving it looking clean and smooth. Highly recommend to sample this mask!

Before trying these products from the Blissoma skincare line I had read a lot of praise about them and their uniquely formulated products, but I didn’t expect this level of love and adoration I have for the brand after experiencing it for myself! Seeing the great results in my skin in terms of a healthy appearance, skin clarity and less acne and breakouts, it’s given me great insight into what my skin needs and what it doesn’t like. Before using Blissoma I had already recognized that my skin no longer likes the sole use of oils – my skin needed true nutrient-rich nourishment and it needed hydration, just as these products (especially the moisturizers!) have done for my skin. Words can’t describe this newfound obsession I have with Blissoma – consider me a junkie already with just about every product in their line on my wishlist! I cannot recommend this brand enough and I highly recommend these products – your skin will love you for it!
