iHerb Haul | Andalou Naturals, Acure Organics, Auromere

I recently picked up some new items and freqently repurchased items from iHerb so I thought I’d share what I bought! I’ve found a new shampoo and conditioner duo that I am loving, a new moisturizing facial mask, some lovely new bar soaps, and some longtime favorites from Acure Organics. If you’re new to iHerb, be sure to check the bottom of this post for a coupon code to save $5 on your first purchase (or simply click any of the shopping links in this post!).

Andalou Naturals Sunflower & Citrus Brilliant Shine Shampoo and Conditioner duo 〉   I was previously using a duo by Nature’s Gate (for a long time too, at least a year!) but I recently decided it was time to try something with a cleaner formula and came upon this duo by Andalou Naturals. I’ve been using this duo for about a solid week, and I am SO happy that I gave these a chance because I’m pretty sure these are my new favorites. I have naturally wavy hair that can get oily at the roots but the ends stay normal/dry. I look for a shampoo that will have a nice balance between being clarifying, but not too stripping and I prefer conditioners that aren’t too heavy that will leave any residue behind. The shampoo has a nice lather and is easy to work into the scalp and hair (I had to constantly add water to my previous shampoo, for some reason it was difficult to massage in). It cleanses my hair with the perfect balance of clarifying the scalp, but not so cleansing that it feels like it’s stripping and turning my hair strands into hay. The conditioner is lightweight-medium and has a nice creamy consistency, and basically it’s just perfect. It doesn’t leave a heavy residue behind but softens my hair just enough and keeps it from going frizzy (the shampoo also contributes to this, an overly stripping shampoo will make my hair go poofy and frizzy). This duo leaves my hair perfectly cleansed and soft and VERY shiny, which I find is leaving my hair to look even lighter and was even complimented on the shininess/lighter factor of my hair. I wash my hair every other night and I’ve noticed that on my second day hair it’s much less oilier on the scalp than it used to be. Also, it has a faint citrus scent and I actually like that after a shower I can’t really smell it in my hair, but that it leaves it smelling nice and clean. I cannot recommend this shampoo and conditioner duo enough! If you have similar hair concerns and preferences as I mentioned above, I highly recommend that you try this duo!

Andalou Naturals Avo Cocoa Skin Food Mask 〉  After seeing a review on this mask by Taylor from the blog The Necessentials  (and the photos of its pudding-looking goodness) I wanted to give it a try because I could use a moisturizing mask in my life. It literally smells like chocolate pudding (but like a more real, natural chocolate because it contains cocoa powder!) and it looks divine. It contains ingredients like vegetable glycerin, cocoa butter, shea butter, avocado and coconut oils to nourish, moisturize and soften the skin. The cocoa delivers antioxidants to help fight free-radicals that can cause signs of aging. I’ve only used this mask once this week, but I loved the results of my first mask with it because it left my skin feeling soft and moisturized. After more testing I will post a review on it in the future!

Seaweed Bath Co Peppermint and Eucalyptus Bar Soap 〉  At the time of ordering iHerb was out of stock on my favorite One with Nature Dead Sea Salt bar soap so I opted for the prettiest looking ones I could find. I hear eucalyptus is so refreshing for use in the shower, so that combined with peppermint it sounds so fresh. Once I am finished with the Auromere bar, I will report back on this one!

Auromere Ayurvedic Vanilla-Neem Bar Soap 〉 This is seriously one unique bar of soap. Once you wet it, the soap dissolving off of it almost looks and feels syrup-y but once you are lathering it up and cleansing the skin it performs like any bar of soap. Although it almost looks and feels sticky, it doesn’t leave reside on the skin and it also doesn’t leave your skin with that rubbery-traction feeling afterward, which is a plus for me. I’ve noticed that it leaves my skin feeling so much less dry after a shower leading it to also look so hydrated and healthy. It smells like vanilla and cinnamon, but it doesn’t contain cinnamon! The reason I feel it’s so unique is because of the ingredients and how they form together to make the consistency that I mentioned at first. This is what it contains:

Coconut oil, sunflower oil, purified water, alkali, castor oil, vanilla compound, sesame oil, sodium gluconate (salt from sugar beets), hydnocarpus (cactus) oil, organic neem oil, vitamin E (certified non-GMO), indian beach oil, indian gooseberry (amla) soil, sandalwood oil, hibiscus, henna, vetiver, zedoary, fenugreek, mung bean, indigo and rose petals.

If you’re a bar soap connoisseur, or if you’re just looking for something that cleanses well, smells great and will leave your skin so soft and hydrated, you need this one!

Acure Organics Foaming Shaving Gel 〉  This shaving gel is such a nice and well-performing shaving gel, if you’re in the market for a new one. First of all, I LOVE the scent which is described as blue chamomile + cucumber – and I don’t know if that’s what it really smells like but I can only describe it as crisp and fresh that fills up the shower as you’re applying it. It dispenses out as a runny gel-cream and you work it into a nice, foamy lather on the skin. It provides a nice smooth base for shaving and leaves my legs feeling moisturized after it’s rinsed off.

Acure Organics Coconut + Argan Oil Cleansing Towelettes 〉 I’ve been using these Acure facial wipes as the first step of my nightly double cleanse for a couple of months now. I’ve been double cleansing since 2012, with the first cleanse previously being either oil or a cleansing balm but last year I was seeing some undesirable effects it was having on my skin. I believe it was overcleansing because my skin became so dull, dry and then overcompensating on oil production, and my pores also seemed to be enlarged. I switched up to using facial wipes as the first step in removing makeup/the oily grime on my face and I still follow with my facial cleanser of choice as the second cleanse. Even though these wipes aren’t abrasive nor do they have any acid/enzyme exfoliatiors, I find that they remove dead skin which is something I only notice after I run out of facial wipes and don’t have any for 4+ days. These wipes have a good balance of moisture (not too dry but not sopping wet!) and they smell like coconut, of course. If you’re still using conventional facial wipes and want to try clean ones, I recommend these!
