One Love Organics ‘Love Springs Eternal’ Youth Preservation Serum
Value: $75 (1oz)
What it is: An oil-based anti-aging serum featuring the star ingredient D’Orientine S, an extract from date palm kernels, that contains a number of compounds like antioxidants and phytosterols to fight free radicals and reduce signs of aging. Based in green tea and watermelon oils to provide emollient moisture. Jasmine-scented.
Lucky me, I actually already received a bottle of this serum in the last Boxwalla box! Since I’ve had the pleasure of regularly using this oil for just over a month, I’m glad that I can give a more extensive opinion on this serum that I’m usually able to do with subscription boxes considering their time-sensitive nature. I find this serum to be lightweight, but nearing medium-weight for those with oily skin types. It has an interestingly silky consistency that sits beautifully on the skin, rather than an oily finish like you get with most oil-based serums. Now, obviously after one month of use I can’t report on any anti-aging effects, but I can at least comment on the fact that this serum doesn’t clog my pores even with its marine plant content which are acneic ingredients. All in all, it’s a beautiful oil moisturizer that feels luxurious and nourishing and I have really been enjoying it.
Since I have an extra LSE serum on my hands I will be giving this bottle away! Keep your eyes peeled to my Instagram (@greenbymercy) within the next week for details.
EDIT: Giveaway is now live on my Instagram! Check the post for more details and entry rules – ends Wednesday, April 12th!
100% Pure ‘Bright Eyes’ Eye Mask
Hydrogel eye masks are the rage these days because of their very effective ability to depuff, hydrate, and soothe the eye area. These hydrogel masks are made of 95% aloe water and 5% plant cellulose and are placed in a tray filled with a very hydrating, beneficial elixir made of aloe juice, green tea, green coffee, yerba mate tea, cucumber, vitamin C, caffeine, and hyaluronic acid. These eye masks seriously do the trick and I love the cooling effect it leaves on the skin after gel patches are taken off. I’m very impressed and very smitten with the Bright Eyes masks and just might have to pick up a few packages of these!
100% Pure Maracuja Mascara
100% Pure’s Maracuja mascara is made with lash-conditioning ingredients and not unlike their other products, this mascara is tinted with a plant-based ingredient, black tea. While this mascara gives my lashes a natural and defined look that I love, it transfers onto my lower eye area in a very bad way. If you don’t typically experience issues of smudging or transferance with mascaras, this one *might* work for you. I’m also skeptical of 100% Pure’s lack of preservatives in their water-based products which is dangerous in the situation of a mascara. Their Bright Eyes masks are not excluded from this – however I am okay with those masks since they are one time use. For the above reasons, this mascara was a dud for me in this box and I will have to give it a pass!
pureSOL Charcoal Konjac Body Sponge
What it is: A biodegradable, 100% natural sponge made of konjac root and also contains activated charcoal for further detoxing. What sets this sponge apart from the ones you might often see is its size – this large-sized sponge is excellent for cleansing the body! I love a good konjac sponge for cleansing my face and I’m quite happy to now have this big ‘un for the body. It cleanses gently yet provides decent exfoliation and leaves my skin feeling healthy and stimulated.
