Time Traveller is a ‘positive aging’ face cream, made with ingredients that encourage a quicker cellular turnover for smooth, renewed skin. Its ingredient deck includes bakuchiol, rosehip and cacay oil for retinol-like results, hyaluronic acid for skin plumping hydration, anti-bacterial colloidal silver and black seed oil, and moisturizers like squalane and cupuacu butter to lock in the hydration. I’ve been finding this cream to be the perfect companion to @cipherskincare’s C-Shield vitamin C serum that’s also being included in this box - I don’t need additional serums or oils with C-Shield but just a solid moisturizer to lock it all in and this cream delivers equal parts hydration + moisture that I need. It’s also the kind of cream that works well on its own or layered with a simple hydrating serum for minimal skincare days - it has everything you need wrapped up in one little scoop. Its texture is delectable, creamy and emollient and it has a really lovely, warming scent of neroli and rose. Also, it’s lighter and whiter in color than it appears in my photo, but I had a difficult time capturing its color accurately in natural outdoor lighting which warmed it up. This review marks round two of this new thing where I’m testing shampoo bars to find the best of the best. Why, exactly? I find shampoo bars to be really interesting and novel, and I can’t understate how much waste they reduce by eliminating plastic, especially in my case where I plow through hair care like nothing with how often I’m washing my hair! After my first shampoo bar review (Abhati Suisse) Lavami, a small batch Canadian beauty brand specializing in bar soaps, was so generous to reach out and ask if I wanted to test some bars, where I happily obliged and thought I’d try Restore (the green bars, ideal for oily hair) as well as Revitalize since my hair is also fine. I also tried out their new scalp massager and I’m telling you, if you deal with flakiness and build up, you MUST try one of these. Yina’s sheet masks are multi-correctional, infused with traditional Chinese medicinal herbs, antioxidants, amino acids and peptides to deeply hydrate, brighten, firm and tone skin. The sheets go through a 21-day fermentation process and are infused in ginseng, centella, licorice and primrose; other ingredients include sodium hyaluronate, allantoin, gotu kola, ginger root, mung bean, hydrolyzed rice and hydrolyzed pearl, and quinoa seed. There’s nothing like the feeling of a juicy, cooling sheet mask on skin that’s ‘under the weather’ and feeling inflamed, dry, or stressed. My skin is visibly plumper and more bright after I use one of these sheet masks and I can’t understate how soothing these treatments are. The beauty of a sheet mask is that you can pop one on at any time of the day, but I like to go for an AM/PM mask right after cleansing to make sure that my clean skin has a chance to fully absorb the serum. Speaking of which, you can and definitely should save any remaining liquid in your mask pouch! I often have enough liquid left over equal to about ~15ml - enough that I can use it as a hydrating serum for a couple of weeks. These cost a pretty penny, but the ability to save the mask liquid to stretch the benefits of each individual mask makes them worth it.
