• you guys, don’t sleep on @lavami_’s body s • you guys, don’t sleep on @lavami_’s body scrubs!

Their Detox scrub is the one that spoke to me the most as I love anything with sea salt or Dead Sea clay - both have amazing skin-healing properties.

This scrub also includes spirulina and coconut oil + avocado oil for nourishment. Normally I’m not a fan of the oily residue that scrubs like these leave behind and I’ll quickly go over my skin with body wash, but this scrub leaves your skin feeling so velvety and smooth that I can’t bare to wash it off! The sea salt granules are fine and small, so it gives a pretty gentle exfoliation and would make for a great daily scrub.

After I get out of the shower and dry off, my skin looks and feels so supple and smooth - I feel like I could almost skip lotion it’s that good! This scrub pairs well with their bar soaps for an amazing spa-like experience.

What’s your go-to body scrub?

• foamy snapshot of @lavami_’s exfoliating bod • foamy snapshot of @lavami_’s exfoliating body bar 🧖🏻‍♀️ it’s made with activated charcoal & pumice for deep exfoliation and it’s scented in tea tree, peppermint and geranium.

It’s currently on sale for $5 CAD so go snag one! 👀
• bar soaps are the bread and butter of @lavami_ • bar soaps are the bread and butter of @lavami_’s skincare line and if you’re a bar lover, you have got to try these!

I’ve been using the heck out of their Coffee bar and Exfoliating bar (first two stacked in this ‘lil tower) and I was obsessed at first use. These lather incredibly well and leave your skin feeling super clean and hydrated (even after a day spent in sweat & humidity, I can attest to this!) and velvety smooth.

I like to use these with an exfoliating loofah so I’ll rigorously rub the bar against the loofah until it has the desired amount of lather I want and I just love this cleansing experience after a hot day. I haven’t tried Blacksmith or Spring yet (the bottom two soaps) but I’m going to dig into these really soon - blacksmith smells like licorice and I love it!

I also have my eye on their Aurora soap and Argan soap which I will pick up on my next order. I noticed that a couple of their soaps are on sale for $5-6 CAD so this would be a good time to try one!

Do you guys like bar soaps? What are your go-to brands?

I usually try to test a product for a couple weeks I usually try to test a product for a couple weeks before sharing a post on it but I’m so into @lavami_’s facial soap that I’ve been itching to share this one with you guys.

I’ve been a big fan of facial bar soaps for the last couple of years and Lavami’s Tamanu + Rosehip facial soap has solidified my love for this kind of cleanser. For me, facial bars net the kind of skin-balancing results I’d best like to see for my combo skin. This bar, in particular, leaves my skin feeling ultra clean and fresh, dissolving excess oil on my t-zone (and keeps it away) while being gentle on my cheeks and the drier areas of my face. It’s been my favorite way to start and end my day - the way its generous foam freshens and awakens my skin, dissolving away the day’s grime to reveal soft, glowing skin that is more hydrated and taut.

There’s nothing like a good bar cleanse especially when the weather turns hot & humid as it has here, so this bar is already getting me through the grimy days of heat, sweat, excess oil, SPF, pollution and so on. I love that soap bars are travel friendly without the worry for leakage or taking up too much space, so it’s another summer-friendly aspect about this bar.

Also, this bar is huge! At $14 CAD, it’s the size of a hockey puck so you’re getting the bang for your buck here. I found this ceramic soap dish at Target and it’s the perfect size for my facial soap, large enough to house this big bar! You can also cut your bars in half/quarters and store in a travel soap holder which is what I like to do with my shampoo and conditioner bars.

• revisiting @lavami_'s shampoo and conditioner • revisiting @lavami_'s shampoo and conditioner bars ▫️

It's Lavami week here on my feed! Lavami's founder, Noni, generously sent me an amazing gift package of my favorite Restore bars, along with other wishlist items I've had my eye on including their signature bar soaps, a facial soap, a hydrating lip mask, and a delicious sea salt body scrub. Through the week you can catch my posts on these detailing my experiences thus far, along with texture shots because these products are *golden*

My history with shampoo bars isn't extensive, but out of the few that I've tested, Lavami's are the most superior and best performing because for me, they recreate results that you'd expect from a liquid shampoo. Much in the way that bar soaps can leave the skin feeling rubbery, many shampoo bars do the same with hair, and when that hair dries, it can feel crunchy, stiff, or hay-like. Combine this with hard water and you're in for... less than desirable results. Lavami's shampoo bars, however, do not leave the hair with this effect, but rather leave hair feeling silky, thoroughly cleansed and free of soap by-product. I believe the difference in Lavami's cleansing experience comes from the fact that they use gentle surfactants (specifically SCI, lovingly referred to as "baby foam") rather than saponified oils like most other bars do. These bars generate an amazing lather that's easy to spread through hair, without the need to constantly wet it or to have to add more suds.

My last go-round with these bars was also my first time to try a conditioner bar and I'll tell you that Lavami's are nothing short of phenomenal. Their conditioner melts into a liquid silk that leaves your hair feeling amaaaazingly soft and silky, and the shine is unreal. They outperform the vast majority of liquid conditioners and have actually made me change my standards for how a conditioner should work for my hair.

• Meet Cocokind’s BRAND NEW Silk SPF 30! ☀️

It’s launch week at Cocokind and they’ve just dropped their new Silk SPF, a hybrid broad spectrum formula made with zinc oxide 10.5% and homosalate 10% to get the best of both physical and chemical sunscreen worlds.

Both physical and chemical sunscreens have their pros and cons, which is why Cocokind formulated a hybrid that kind of lives in between to create the most wearable formula.

Silk SPF’s formula has a silky lightweight lotion consistency that sets to a matte finish with no white cast (benefits of chemical protection) and it’s less likely to clog pores or cause sensitivities/stinging (benefits of physical protection). Just like their other sunscreen, Silk is buildable in application and doesn’t pill whatsoever, so it’s routine friendly and would wear great under makeup.

What I’m most impressed with is the matte finish - my skin still looks like skin but it’s slightly blurred and more even toned, perhaps as if I’m wearing a super natural skin tint or a filter - never chalky. Considering how hot and humid it gets here during Summer/Fall, I can see myself reaching for this sunscreen more than I would be their Daily SPF because of its lightweight/matte factor.

If you’d like to try the new spf or anything else at Cocokind, you can use code GREENBYMERCY10 for 10% off!

• throwing it back to one of my favorite texture • throwing it back to one of my favorite texture shots of @berlin.skin’s Blue Tansy Cream ▫️

Blue Tansy has this lush, balmy consistency while acting like a hydrating, lightweight cream. As a finisher in a full routine, it leaves my skin super smooth and velvety with a touch of dewiness. On its own, it sets to a semi-matte finish on my combo skin.

I reach for Blue Tansy on both my best and worst skin days! When my skin is being problematic, this creams helps to hydrate & soothe redness and irritation, and it kind of works to fill in the cracks of texture and dryness, leaving it feeling more smooth and soft.

If you love blue tansy, you will LOVE the scent of this cream! It’s a true blue tansy and it’s out of this world yummy - you’ll want to inhale it on your hands before applying for uplifting aromatherapy.

This cream will be a great companion going into Summer (it’s basically Summer here now, hello 90 degree days 🥵) to help with hydration/dehydration and it’s fab under SPF.
